HERE'S A FEW OF WHAT MADE NEWS TODAY

Good morning beautiful people, by now I believe you have made it a habit to include Nigeria and the whole world in your prayers every morning. We will pray this country back to health. While we do that though, it is noteworthy to remind us that the answers to our prayers will not come in one day, but they will surely come.

It is another Saturday, a very beautiful gorgeous one indeed, and for many reasons. On one hand, all major football leagues are back today, and in a big way; football’s biggest rivalry is rekindled later as the El Grande Clasico is served up. You can check out our very own Pre – game – talk to remember a few things that could use your attention before kickoff
On another hand, we have a lot happening in the news – not just today, but the whole week long; the most bizarre of which is the Glamour magazine woman of the year award bestowed on Caitlyn Bruce Jenner. This would be the second year in a row when the award has not gone to a “natural woman”, but to a transgender person.

More alluring news has to do with 25, Adele’s new album which was released on November 20, 2015 and is on course to break quite a number of records. The album has been received to glowing reviews and fans truly believe I truly it has been worth the wait. Music fans should expect a thrilling end to the year, as new albums are expected from the likes of Coldplay, One Direction, Chris Brown and T.I to mention a few.

Let’s get back home, the President (and minister of petroleum resource) are is being berated by Nigerians as a result of the hardship they have had to face in the light of the ongoing fuel crisis. Reports in the Punch newspapers have it that Nigerians feel the change mantra is not exactly panning out as thought. And the people are of the opinion that it should not take forever for the change (the good parts) to materialize.

Kogi State goes to the polls today to elect a new Governor, let us keep our fingers crossed as we await the results, and the reopening of roads by 6pm so travel to Abuja can be possible.

We also heard during the week that Gov. Mimiko has decided to lecture Alhaji Lai Mohammed (minister of information) on how to speak (with decorum) as a minister. Frankly I expected another Edo-uncles style girl fight there, but they killed the fun.

Remember Charles Soludo? Brilliant dude, he’s in the news today, said many things really – most important of which is that the TSA is not very good for our economy and so much more stuff my engineering – inclined mind finds difficult to shorten. You can check it out in the Vanguard – you’d love the title.
Talking about money, state Governors have come out to say that they can no longer afford to pay the N18000 minimum wage. I didn’t bother to read why, partly because I got redirected to a link where labor leaders have threatened to SHUT-DOWN the country if they don’t stop such talk.

More talk on money (who doesn’t want more when it comes to money), the Nigerian Football Federation has come out to say they do not have money to pay the eaglets the necessary bonuses for winning the U17 world cup. You know that N20k we heard they were paid, forget that one – NFF said there is no money to pay them at the moment. What a way to treat your World Champions.

On another sad note, our prayers remain with the people of Mali, who witnessed the latest dose of the wave of senseless terrorism sweeping the world like the harmattan is sweeping my street.

Have a blessed Saturday (and, To Whom It May Concern Sabbath).
