Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber trade barbs on Instagram

They were once the darlings in pop culture circles, but now Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are heating up in a different way.

The exes got into a war of words on Instagram after Justin threatened to change his account to private after fans started hating on his rumoured girlfriend Sofia Richie.

Selena, 24, chided Justin, 22, for even suggesting such a drastic action and dropped a pearl of wisdom his way, borrowing from that old saying that if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

‘If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only,’ Selena wrote.

‘Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.’

Justin came back with his own tart response – which a fan re-posted – insinuating that the Come & Get It star ‘used me for attention.’

‘It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love,’ Justin later wrote.
He followed that up by writing: ‘I’m not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers (sic).’

Bow Wow to Retire from Rap after Final Album

He started out as Lil Bow Wow, then dropped the “Lil” when he matured and moved into acting and now he’s hanging it up entirely. After wrapping up an Australian tour, Bow Wow (born Shad Moss) announced on Sunday in a series of tweets that he’s giving up the mic at age 29, but not before releasing one last album.

“Retirement only means that it is time for a new adventure,” he wrote in an Instagram on Sunday, in which he noted that he’s sold more than 10 million albums during his career and that, as promised years ago, he’s retiring from the rap game before age 30.
Bow Wow began rapping at age six and attracted the attention of Snoop Dogg, who gifted him with the name Lil Bow Wow. A few years later producer Jermaine Dupri took the then-11-year-old rapper under his wing, releasing his debut album in 2000, Beware the Dog, which featured a collabo with Snoop, “Bow Wow (That’s My Name),” as well as the hit “Bounce With Me” (featuring Xscape) and “Puppy Love” with Jagged Edge. He followed with the No. 1 platinum album Doggy Bag in 2002, the year he aced the “Lil” from his stage name.Then came Unleashed in 2003, Wanted in 2005 and The Price of Fame a year later. The rapper teamed with Omarion for a collabo album, Face Off, in 2007, which, like the previous two albums, charted lower than his earlier efforts. His most recent album was New Jack City II from 2009, which featured tracks with Soulja Boy, Nelly, Dupri, T.I., T-Pain and Trey Songz. After promoting a new album on Cash Money Records for several years, Bow Wow announced last year that he’d split with the label and signed with Bad Boy Records.

Given his long history in the game, the series of Sunday tweets included an extended list of accomplishments, including his claims that he’s made more than $20 million off rapping and, you know, he got invited to the White House, so…

In addition to three new unnamed TV shows he’s working on – Bow Wow said he’s “focusing on acting and hosting,” as well as producing two TV shows this year. The rapper frequently stepped away from music to act, starting out on TV shows like Moesha, then making his big screen debut in Like Mike in 2002 and then appearing in the films Roll Bounce, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Hurricane Season, Lottery Ticket and Scary Movie 5, all while continuing to do spots on TV shows including Ugly Betty, Entourage and Smallville. He also hosted BET’s 106th & Park for two years.

Now that he’s moving on, the rapper said he’s prepping his final album, NYLTH, which he said is being executive produced by himself and Snoop and which will be bundled with a movie; no release date has been announced for the album.

Not for nothing, but this is the second time Bow Wow has announced his retirement, following on the heels of a 2009 interview in which he said he was hanging it up. “There’s nothing more that I want to accomplish,” he said back then at age 22.

Iyanya can't take a joke as he threatens Hit FM OAP in leaked phone call

It was reported yesterday that Nigerian singer superstar, Iyanya threatened an On air personality of Hit FM, Calabar.

The OAP known as Last Prophet had his radio show Otwetwe, on August 2, 2016 where he talked about Iyanya parting ways with his former partner and manager Ubi Franklin.

The OAP during his show said ‘he wondered if Iyanya was planning to return back to Calabar where he started from’.

Not long after the show, Iyanya put a call through to the OAP threatening him.

In Iyanya’s words:

‘I don’t depend on my strive (sic), but i depend on God to take me further, this is Iyanya speaking, brother let this be the first and the last time that you will make that kind of statement that you made about me on your show. I have never had any issue with you, don’t ever in your whole life mention my issue with Ubi on your show. I’ve had different people call me to make that report, the next time you do I’ll show you another side of me’.

Reaching out to the OAP, Last Prophet said:

‘I was shocked at Iyanya’s phone call. I’m a comedian and OAP, my show is a comedy show in pidgin English. All I did was make jokes from the situation, which is what anyone else would have done. I only feel bad because I’m sure he would not do that to any OAP in Lagos; he did it to me because he feels I’m in Calabar and he can just threaten me like that.

Apple in Talks with Jay Z over Tidal Purchase

Apple is exploring the possibility of buying Tidal, a music-streaming service run by rap musician Jay Z, sources told The Wall Street Journal on Thursday.
The acquisition, alongside Jay Z’s portfolio of popular musicians and friends, would beef up Apple Music, sources told the Journal. Still, the talks may not result in a deal, and the terms of the deal are unknown, the Journal said.
A Tidal spokesman denied that Tidal executives had held talks with Apple, according to the Journal. Apple declined to comment on the report.
At $19.99 per month for its high-fidelity version and $9.99 for standard sound quality, Tidal focuses on richer, “lossless” musical sound. It has said it has 4.2 million paying subscribers, according to the Journal.
But the company has seen turnover among executives, the Journal reported.

Such an acquisition would come as Apple has invested more deeply in its music platform, announcing a redesign at a developers’ conference earlier this summer. Apple Music debuted one year ago, after Apple had purchased Beats Electronics, founded by rapper Dr. Dre the year prior.

THIS IS A YEAR OF EXPECTATIONS

I have said it many times in the few hours of this year, this is going to be quite the year. This statement I can credit to a whole lot of reasons. 2016 is a year long awaited by all, some for good reasons, others because they just wanted to be done with '15 and its not-so-great moments.
